Premier Foods has announced that, following the appointment of Gavin Darby as chief executive, a flatter executive management structure has been implemented, that will enable commercial and functional management to report directly to the CEO.

As a consequence of this new structure, the role of chief operating officer will cease to exist. Geoff Eaton, current chief operating officer has consequently stepped down from the board and left the company.

The former chief executive of Uniq, Geoff Eaton was appointed to help accelerate the transformation of Premier Foods last October by the group’s then chief executive Michael Clarke, who surprisingly resigned in January 2013.
