Bidfood, the UK foodservice wholesaler supplying fresh, frozen, ambient and non-food related products to customers in a wide range of sectors within the foodservice and catering industries, has announced the acquisition of Elite Fine Foods. This is the latest business to join Bidfood’s successful network of independent businesses trading alongside other companies in the delivered foodservice sector including Caterfood, South Lincs Foodservice and Cimandis in the Channel Islands.

Elite Fine Foods delivers to more than 2,500 catering establishments across the UK from its seven strategically located, multi-temperature sites.

Andrew Selley, chief executive of Bidfood, comments: “Operated by a strong and dynamic management team, the company has unrivalled market place knowledge, service and a range of over 6,500 products. This includes a comprehensive selection of fine foods, such as excellent local and imported speciality cheeses. Elite Fine Foods also offer their own butchery and fresh meat service, along with a fantastic range of fresh fish. This sits well within our decentralised model, where we can use our financial and strategic strength alongside their local expertise to offer customers the service and range they are looking for.”

The current management team and employees of Elite Fine Foods will continue to run the business under the same identity and culture, with no change to the service offering.

Graham Bell, managing director of Elite Fine Foods, says: “We’re excited to become part of the Bidfood family, and look forward to working with them to leverage their support and expertise to further strengthen our market-leading service, range, and proposition.  We will continue to service our customers as before, as an independent business, now supported by the strength of Bidfood.”
