C&C Group Pledges Support to Ethical Water Brand

C&C Group, a leading international producer of long alcoholic drinks, has announced that it is to support One Water, the UK’s leading ethical bottled water brand. C&C Group’s portfolio includes: Bulmers, the Irish cider brand; Magners, the premium international cider brand; and Tennent’s, the iconic Scottish beer brand.

As part of C&C Group’s community involvement programme, the company has pledged to sell £1 million of One Water in the UK on-trade (pubs, clubs and hotels) over the next two years through the company’s distribution networks.

All of One Water’s profits are donated to The One Foundation charity which operates across Africa to provide water to some of the world’s poorest communities. To date, One Water has raised over £10 million and has changed the lives of over 2.5 million people.

Paul Bartlett, corporate relations director, at C&C Group, comments: “We believe passionately that C&C Group has a responsibility to the communities in which we operate. In the Western World we sometimes take for granted the availability of clean, disease-free fresh drinking water and, as a leading drinks company it is wholly appropriate that we should use our distribution relationships in the on-trade to raise funds to support One Water and all that it stands for.”

 Duncan Goose, founder and managing director of One Water, says: “One’s success has always been based on working with organisations who share our vision and have a passion to change people’s lives. The first time I met Stephen Glancey, CEO of C&C Group, I got a sense that we were going to achieve amazing things together with their team, they are an incredible group of people and have absolutely bought into what we’re trying to do and will accelerate One’s presence in the on-trade.”
