Sheikh-2Leicester-based Clifton Packaging has receivedthe “Company of the Year” award at the Leicester Mercury Business Awards.

Recognised at one of the most important regional awards, The Leicester Mercury Business Awards celebrate success, recognise achievement and highlight innovation throughout the business community in Leicestershire.

The judges said Clifton Packaging was the “perfect mix” of success – growth, innovation, vision, employee engagement and development, and community support.

Shahid Sheikh OBE, managing director of Clifton Packaging, said: “We have a very committed team at Clifton Packaging and my thanks also goes out to each and every one of them.  Our staff are instrumental in helping us to achieve all that we have to-date and in helping us to take the business to where we intend to take it over the next three to five years.  Last, but by no means least, I would like to thank our customers and suppliers.  It is true to say that without them we wouldn’t be who we are today.”

Sheikh also dedicated the award to his late parents and brother.
