Macclesfield-based Direct Food Ingredients is celebrating its US office reaching nearly $1million in sales in its first year of trading.

Launched just one year ago in February 2015, Direct Food Ingredients opened a Los Angeles based office and 75,000 square feet warehousing and distribution facility to support the firm’s ambitious international expansion plans.

Steve Loake, Founder and MD of Direct Food Ingredients is thrilled that the Stateside office has exceeding expectations: “Our entry into the US market has been focussed on our two core areas of sports nutrition and nutraceuticals, and to be turning over just under $1 million at the end of our first year is very encouraging indeed.

“The Direct Food Ingredients brand has been built upon employing the highest quality standards in everything we do, and we have benefitted from the fact that many areas of the US market are driven by low quality imports from China. Our stringent quality assured offer has seen considerable demand. In a matter of months we brought on board 12 US-based large manufacturer clients.”

Headed up by Abe Cortez, US office Vice President, the Los Angeles office is the first of the Direct Food Ingredients international offices.

This news follows exceptional 2015 UK trading results for Direct Food Ingredients which saw the business generate £13.7 million in sales, a 52% like for like annual growth on the previous year.

Direct Food Ingredients’ head office is located on Waters Green in the centre of Macclesfield (Cheshire, England). The business is an established leader in the importation, storage and distribution of functional foods, nutritional and sports ingredients as well as vitamin and mineral premixes.
