Two new initiatives, plus major boosts to established show favourites, means PACKAGING INNOVATIONS will return to Birmingham’s NEC on 27 & 28 February 2013 with more and unmissable show features than ever before. This year’s show will see the launch of The BIG Print Debate, where industry experts, including Karen Graley, Packaging & Reprographics Manager at Waitrose and John Charnock, Director at Print Research International, discuss the topic ‘What can be digital will be digital’ at 13:30 on Thursday 28 February.

The show will feature 50 content-rich learnShops, including major brands and leading speakers from Sunny Delight, Landa, Warburtons and Arla Foods.

Also new for this year, PACKAGING INNOVATIONS will host a live edition of the hugely popular twitter forum #PACKCHAT at 1pm on Wednesday 27 February in the Social Media Lounge. Here show attendees will debate with the ‘twittersphere’ regarding a critical packaging issue.

The 3D Print feature returns by popular demand, while Pro Carton, the European Association of Carton and Cartonboard manufacturers, will be showcasing all the outstanding carton packaging from the ECMA Carton awards.

Expert professionals, from The Packaging Society, will provide one-to-one advice on any area of your product’s lifecycle at the Packaging Consultancy Clinic. There will also be a return of the Lions’ Lair, where a number of the show’s exhibitors pitch their latest innovations to a panel of experts, in a bid for their development to be crowned best of show.

The BIG Packaging Debate, inspired by BBC Question Time, will see a panel of packaging professionals debate the topic: ‘Consumers don’t buy Sustainable Packaging’. The debate will take place on the International Brand Summit at 15:30, 27 February.

A drinks reception for all those visiting the co-located events will be held after The BIG Packaging Debate at the end of of Wednesday, providing an opportunity to meet the panel and speakers at the show, network with colleagues, new contacts, and exhibitors.

PACKAGING INNOVATIONS is co-located with five other related shows: ECOPACK, CONTRACT PACK, PACKTECH, PRINT INNOVATIONS and new for 2013 LABELLING INNOVATIONS.

Providing a great opportunity for everyone involved in packaging to meet in one place these shows also offer professionals the chance to find out what’s new in the industry.
