Fortress Technology Europe is highlighting a wide range of high performance ‘Phantom’ metal detectors aimed at the food and pharmaceutical industries. On show in the UK for the first time ever is the company’s recently launched ICON and Stealth metal detectors, and Contact Dashboard Software. Also on display is the latest Vector integrated conveyor system which has been recently enhanced to meet new supermarket retailer standards. It now features an audible or visual alarm to indicate when there has been metal rejects in order to help identify potential issues early.

The groundbreaking recently launched ICON metal detector features an eye-catching touch screen front panel, and has been specially designed to be future proof as well as easily retrofitted to older models in the company’s Phantom series. Using robust Quad-Core processing, the ICON delivers fast accurate detection of metal contaminants, and detailed data collection. Information gathered such as Product Configurations, Rejects and Faults is stored in an onboard database and accessible via USB or wired Ethernet. All collected data can be exported as Microsoft Excel or Adobe Acrobat PDF file formats.

Offering simple operation, outstanding reliability and exceptional performance is Fortress Technology’s STEALTH extra rugged metal detector. Its modular design means fewer product parts resulting in greater reliability, while its robust new control panel is designed to withstand the harshest production environments. Like ICON it has been developed for future redesigns and new elements of the machine can also be retrofitted to older models, ensuring spare parts and upgrades for additional functionality are readily available. For heightened stability and performance in wet or heavy duty product applications, the IP69K certified BSH Extra Rugged Casing has been used. The addition of an epoxy chute makes this unit water resistant.

The new CONTACT Dashboard Software has been designed to transform ‘Phantom’ metal detectors into a Critical Control Point. The easy to use graphical display has been specially designed by Fortress Technology to show performance results at a glance, giving clarity on events and activities by means of ‘traffic light’ images, graphs and bar charts. The software may also be configured by the user to provide greater visibility of an entire operation, by site, area, line or individual detector, and includes automatic recognition of newly installed detectors.

Fully compliant with British Retail Consortium (BRC) and English European Food Safety Inspection Service (EFSIS) specifications, the Fortress Technology VECTOR conveyor system is a convenient and effective all-in-one solution developed to achieve the most accurate detection results by optimising the performance of Phantom metal detectors.

Purpose built to integrate with standard rectangular aperture metal detectors, the Vector conveyor offers reliable performance under the harshest production environments including washdown. Easy to clean and maintain, the machine features a fully modular design and is robustly constructed to industrial specifications using a stainless steel frame.

Fortress Technology’s robust Phantom metal detectors are exceptionally reliable yet easy to operate and maintain. Utilising the latest Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology to ensure complete product integrity, the systems offer superior accuracy and speed. They are available in a wide range of aperture sizes with a selection of construction options including painted aluminium, stainless steel and BSH (IP69K certified).

Established in the UK since 1999, Fortress Technology is a leading designer and manufacturer of Phantom branded metal detection systems for a wide range of markets. In particular, the company’s high performance inspection equipment has been specially developed to help eliminate contaminants throughout the food packaging, processing and manufacturing industries including the bakery, meat & poultry, confectionery, frozen & chilled, ready meals and snack food sectors.

As well as a range of standard metal detectors, Fortress Technology’s technical teams will work with customers to custom design machines for non-standard applications.

Fortress Technology develops innovations and features that improve detection levels, reduce product waster and lower the cost of ownership. The company is backed by skilled in-house design, technical and consultancy teams, a growing distributor network and European customer service and support. It also supplies high quality spare parts, flexible warranty packages, training, product testing and rental units.
