Irish Distribution Network Provides the Export Sauce for European Pasta Producer

Based in Ashbourne Co. Meath and working in partnership with leading European fresh pasta producer, Giovanni Rana, supply chain specialist in warehousing and logistics, Oakland International,is directing their extensive distribution network to support positive growth in demand for fresh pasta products in Ireland.

 

With Oakland International managing transportation, storage, product and case labelling, prior to onward distribution throughout Southern Ireland since 2010, Giovanni Rana benefits from the supply chain specialist’s local knowledge and bespoke distribution route service for their unfilled, filled pasta and lasagne products via a major retailer’s stores distribution network.

 

Harry Johnston, Commercial Manager for Giovanni Rana (UK) stated: “Oakland International provides us with the flexibility we need to manage our logistics from Italy and Belgium into Ireland efficiently while at the same time responding effectively to our customers’ needs.”

 

Close contact between the two firms has ensured accuracy, flexibility and reactivity to any specific event, with Oakland International’s Ashbourne site able to offer its customers both ambient and chilled product warehousing prior to onward delivery into all Irish retailers.

 

Oakland Ireland General Manager, Richard Hill, stated: “Having created a bespoke solution to fit Giovanni Rana’s requirements, we manage the transportation of their fresh pasta from the UK, prior to storing and then transporting direct to the retailer’s distribution facility.”
