Kuehne + Nagel launches LCL services for the drinks industry

Kuehne + Nagel has launched a new LCL service specifically tailored for drinks imports to the UK. The new service offers weekly sea freight departures from major wine-producing regions around the world including Chile, the US, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. Fortnightly departures are also available from Argentina

Shipping drinks on a LCL basis offers significant benefits to wine producers and importers. Smaller, more frequent consignments mean that inventory levels can be reduced and products can be moved on a just-in-time basis. Overall this helps to make the supply chain much leaner and more flexible.

To fully support the specific needs of drinks customers choosing this service, Kuehne + Nagel offers a ‘rate-per-case’ tariff which is re-issued on a monthly basis.

In addition, dedicated teams of drinks specialists are in place at both origin and destination to manage the flows, while KN Login, Kuehne + Nagel‘s global web-based visibility platform, allows real-time monitoring
