LIPOFOODS INTRODUCES NEW MICROENCAPSULATED MINERALS AT FI

November 10
14:19 2011

Focusing on the microencapsulation of special actives and new minerals, Lipofoods will present new products in Paris to visitors at FI Food Ingredients Europe. One of the most important developments which will be introduced Lipofoods is based on microencapsulated Zinc, a mineral that plays a key role in protein synthesis and in the activity of the immune system.

Microencapsulation can greatly promote the bioavailability of the nutrients encapsulated and their stability within formulations while providing a superior sensory profile. Advanced microencapsulation techniques allow Lipofoods to improve mineral absorption and water dispersibility while avoiding inconveniences associated with mineral food fortification such as odour,  a metallic taste, change of color  or oxidationa due to intereaction with other foods components.

Lipofoods is equipped with the essential tools to develop and produce innovative nutritional and technological solutions for the food, beverage and dietary supplements industries. Other products on show in Paris include dispersible plant phytosterols and a wide range of microencapsulated minerals.

Lipofer® is a technological solution for the iron enrichment of foods. It is a highly bioavailable source of iron which allows us to obtain stable formulations with neither metallic taste nor oxidation of other compounds.

Lipophytol is a fat free nutritional solution based on plant phytosterols for diminishing cholesterol levels, reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease.

Lipocal is a technologically-friendly source of calcium, which is an essential mineral to maintain body health and to prevent major chronic diseases such as osteoporosis, arterial hypertension, obesity and colon cancer. Lipocal, which is suitable for vegetarians, offers a higher bioavailability than dairy calcium.
