Labcell is offering a new short form catalogue for the Decagon Devices AquaLab series of water activity instruments. This eight-page, full-colour guide includes a useful chart showing the relationship between water activity levels and the growth of microorganisms in food.

Water activity can influence the shelf life, odour, colour, flavour or texture of various products, so is of major interest to companies in the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries. As well as having an important role to play in the quality assurance of ingredients and manufactured products, water activity is also invaluable in the research and development of both products and packaging.

The new short form catalogue presents the latest AquaLab instruments, including the AquaLab 4TE, AquaLab 4TEV and AquaLab DUO, the latter of which measures both water activity and moisture content. It also contains information about the AquaLab VSA high-resolution vapour sorption analyser, and the portable AquaLab Lite and Pawkit water activity meters.

For each instrument in the catalogue there is a QR code that readers can scan with a mobile phone or tablet computer to access more detailed information online.

Labcell has a wealth of knowledge and experience relating to water activity and can advise on instrument selection and applications. In addition, Labcell offers a moisture sorption isotherm generation service for those customers who need this data but do not wish to purchase their own analyser.
