Nim’s Fruit Crisps Awarded Best New Idea Accolade at Food & Drink Expo 2016

A range of air dried vegetable crisps from Nim’s Fruit Crisps has been awarded the Best New Idea accolade at this year’s Food & Drink Expo. The range includes 100% Natural Air Dried Pepper & Courgette, Beetroot & Parsnip and Tomato & Cucumber crisps, which are all sliced and aired to perfection without the use of oil. The process helps to retain much of the nutrients whilst enhancing the authentic taste of the vegetable.

An extension of its already popular fruit crisps range, Nim’s new vegetable crisps are aimed at health conscious consumers. Made from 100% fresh vegetables, they tap into the demand for genuinely healthy lunchboxes, on-the-go and after school snacks that don’t compromise on taste.

The Great New Idea competition, which invited exhibitors to put forward their best innovations of the last six months, saw over 160 entries, with the winner announced at a presentation at the NEC during the show.

Recognised at the event alongside Nim’s Vegetable Crips, exhibitors Bruschetta de Sophie, Graze, Thirst Quencher and Yumcha Drinks were announced as runners up. Bruschetta de Sophie was acknowledged for its range of oven-ready bruschetta, which takes just six minutes to prepare while Graze was recognised for its Veggie Protein Power, Thirst Quencher’s for its Mega Chia drinks and Yumcha Drink’s No More Tea Bags range of instant tea and coffee

This year’s Food & Drink Expo provided buyers from the grocery, wholesale, speciality retail, manufacturing and foodservice sectors with a unique opportunity to source new products and learn about the trends set to shape the UK food and drink industry over the coming years.

It was co-located with the Farm Shop & Deli Show, National Convenience Show and Foodex exhibitions. The Great New Idea competition ran across all four shows, with the following companies taking the top spots, including:

* National Convenience Show: Pelican Rouge Coffee Roasters B.V

* Foodex: Biomaster Bag for Life from Addmaster (UK) Ltd.
