The overall theme for R. A. Rodriguez at PPMA will be automation and the company’s ability to address a wide range of needs from the supply of a simple plug-and-play robot or compact drive through to a bespoke, multi-axis and programmable handling system.  R. A. Rodriguez will also launch a brand new conveyor roller development, to the UK market, giving those in the food & beverage processing and packing industries a highly cost effective alternative to stainless steel rollers.

Also new at the show will be the latest generation Universal Robot, a simple six axis robotic arm that has proven to be extremely popular for smaller UK manufacturers.  Appearing for the first time in the UK at PPMA, Universal Robot Series 3 introduces additional software features to enhance its flexible application and also a 50% lighter weight teach pendant and touch screen display.

R. A. Rodriguez will also be able provide more information on a new longer-reach version of this plug-and-play robot that is scheduled for launch in mainland Europe later this year.

R. A. Rodriguez is the factory representative for several manufacturers that serve the machine building sector, particularly those involved in rotary bearings and linear motion.

The company has enjoyed a long and successful association with linear motion and automation specialist, IEF Werner and the handling system that will be demonstrated at the show combines proven products from the IEF Werner component range.  It is designed to provide orderly and gentle transfer of items to or from packaging lines, often integrating end of line processes such as product marking.

Also new is an exceptionally energy efficient pallet system, primarily designed for light pallets, which can be easily integrated into assembly lines and combined with existing product handling systems such as robots.  Called ecoSTACK, it can cost as little as £7 per year to run without handling for a single shift.

Driveline products that have a proven track record in machinery for food processing belong to the R. A. Rodriguez, Framo range.  Its systems include the Compacta slip-on geared motor with built-in limit switches.  This is an ideal actuator for reverse motion and is available in four sizes with torques up to 600Nm.

In a similar vein the Mini is a range of extremely compact linear actuators with acme screws that are sealed to IP65.  Minimum space requirement is also the main selling point of LinearChain that is capable of long strokes despite its small size.

Taking full advantage of Framo’s comprehensive manufacturing capabilities R. A. Rodriguez is also able to meet custom drive requirements.
