Teeling Whiskey, the Irish whiskey producer which was founded in 2012, is celebrating the fourth anniversary of its award-winning distillery. In June 2015, Teeling Whiskey began a new chapter in modern Irish whiskey history when it opened the first new distillery in Dublin for over 125 years to the public.

In the past four years, over 425,000 people have visited the Teeling Whiskey Distillery, to experience the unique sounds and smells of an authentic, modern Irish whiskey distillery in the heart of Dublin city. In the four-year period, a combination of visitors to the distillery, sales from the adjoining distillery café and gift shop, as well as sales from event space rental have generated a revenue figure of close to €13 million for Teeling Whiskey.

The Teeling Whiskey Distillery was recently singled out by Fáilte Ireland (Irish Tourism Development Authority) as a world class attraction that was deserving of a €200,000 grant. Named as one of the recipients of Fáilte Ireland’s Dublin Surprising Stories grant scheme, the money awarded will be used by Teeling Whiskey to evolve the distillery’s visitor experience in the years to come.

In addition to visitor numbers surpassing expectations, the Teeling Whiskey Distillery has been consistently recognised with several awards, claiming 15 accolades since 2015. Recent recognitions for the Teeling Whiskey Distillery include being shortlisted as Europe’s Leading Distillery Tour for past two years at the World Travel Awards as well as a nomination for Whiskey Attraction of the Year by the Whisky Magazine.

This year has been a landmark year for Teeling Whiskey. Not only was the whiskey producer shortlisted in four categories at the World Whiskies Awards, Teeling Whiskey also became the first Irish whiskey brand to win the coveted World’s Best Single Malt award, scooping top prize for its 24-Year-Old Single Malt.

Located in Dublin’s Newmarket, the Teeling Whiskey Distillery is only 100 metres from the site of the original Teeling Distillery in the 18th century. Teeling Whiskey has led the recent revival for Dublin based whiskey distilling -since the distillery opened in 2015, a further three whiskey distilleries have opened their doors across the city.

Jack Teeling, Founder and CEO of Teeling Whiskey, comments: “The Teeling Whiskey Distillery is a unique and unrivalled experience in Dublin and its unprecedented success since opening in 2015 is something we are very proud of. Our vision for the distillery visitor centre, was to provide a unique brand experience for people interested in learning about Irish whiskey and we have been truly rewarded by the overwhelming positive response we have received both domestically and from international visitors to Dublin.

“Ireland’s whiskey category continues to shine brightly with a new generation of whiskey drinkers discovering the full breadth and choice that the sector has to offer. We will continue to do what we do best and ensure we represent the new breed of Irish whiskey distillers through high quality whiskeys and by evolving the distillery experience.’’
