The UK’s leading packaging machinery event, Empack returns to Birmingham’s NEC on 24 & 25 February 2016, providing the opportunity to evaluate and purchase the latest packaging technology, network with the industry’s brightest and be inspired by an extensive line-up of educational seminars from leading names such as Kraft Heinz, Weetabix, John Lewis and the JML Group.

Packaging machinery is a fledgling industry within the UK, with manufacturers constantly looking to achieve greater productivity, efficiency and cost reductions, in terms of a product’s packaging. For leading decision-makers and key influencers, Empack 2016 is this year’s must attend event, playing host to the latest innovations, key international suppliers and major technology advancements.

New exhibitors, ATS Tanner UK and A-Safe Ltd, are joining returning companies Adpak Machinery Systems Ltd, De Jong Verpakking BV, Yorkshire Packaging Systems, HERMA UK and PFM Packaging Machinery, extending the Empack footprint and showcasing the latest packaging technology in the marketplace.

Advanced Labeling Systems, will be launching its third generation R-Series Rotary Labeller. It allows more frequent product change-over, across a wider range of label placement positions. This happens at a faster speed, with the ability to upgrade specifications in the future, making it a future proof and a cost effective option.

A-Safe will be displaying its new rack protection solution, iFlex RackGuards. It will also display its new range of pedestrian guardrails and vehicle check systems, which are made from a new material Memaplex; a robust, flexible polyolefin blend of eight materials and rubber additives that flexes on impact, before absorbing and dissipating the impact force.

Specialists in high performance paper cushion packaging, Easypack, will be using the show to launch its Spiral Pro dispenser, which delivers high volumes of 100 % recycled void fill paper packaging in seconds.

Kite Packaging is using Empack 2016 to raise its profile within the industry. Not only is it taking the largest stand ever seen by Easyfairs, but it will also be launching a range of new products to the UK market.

Gavin Ashe, Managing Partner at Kite Packaging said: “Kite Packaging sees Empack as one of the main events at which to showcase its new packaging systems, and so made the strategic decision to invest in a large stand.”

eloProtect will be presenting its new range of magnetically actuated safety switches, eloProtectM, and eloProtectE RFID, which have been designed to deliver an increased performance and a greater safety.

EyeC will be demonstrating the newly integrated live text checking capability of its Proofiler Graphic system. It means that graphic objects and text can be checked without producing hundreds of deviations. In addition to this, EyeC will be running a competition live on the show floor, getting visitors to ‘spot the difference’ between two artworks, in order to demonstrate how much more efficient automated proofing tools are rather than human inspection.

HERMA UK will be introducing its HERMA Basic label applicator to its existing range. It has been added as a lower cost entry point, without compromising the renowned simplicity of operation and reliability applicators.

Two new machines will be showcased by KBW: A new Liquid Filling Machine, the AF 0020Auto and a new Labelling Machine, GER 50. The GER 50 is a flexible compact bench top wrap round labelling machine suitable for the smaller manufacturer with a variety of labelling options.

Leading coding and marking printer company, Sauven, will be showcasing its new Sauven 600 Printer with Touch Screen. It provides a more user friendly interface, offering unlimited fonts, more functions and illuminates the need for training.

Gerry Sherwood, Event Director of Easyfairs’ UK Packaging Portfolio, says: “It’s exciting to see so many exhibitors at Empack launching original packaging machinery solutions, in order to provide packaging suppliers with more productive, efficient and cost-effective options. The show is absolutely brimming with innovation. I can’t wait for the doors to open.”
