A rapidly expanding UK food manufacturer of natural protein bars, protein powders and healthy treats has invested in more equipment from ULMA Packaging Ltd to meet the growing demand from retailers for its award-winning products.

Pulsin’, which has enjoyed remarkable growth since starting production just eight years ago, puts its success down to offering delicious natural ingredients and making smart production decisions, such as purchasing ULMA’s wrapping equipment which has helped the Gloucester-based company boost output of its protein snack bars and brownies.

This continuing success story resulted in Pulsin’ recently acquiring another flowrapper after moving into a new unit. It opted for a second Florida E from ULMA to work alongside the original supplied in 2012. Both machines are wrapping the thousands of beond Bars, and Pulsin’ Raw Choc Brownies and Protein Snacks each day.

The company recently celebrated the 12 millionth bar to come off the production line since 2007 – a milestone in which ULMA made a significant contribution.

A spokesperson for Pulsin’ said: “ULMA’s machines wrap all the bars we produce. The flowrappers are incredibly quick and efficient, allowing us to keep up with bar production as they come off the line.”

Retailers are demanding that suppliers in the bakery industry not only have packaging systems in place that protect the integrity of goods and offer excellent presentation, but can also accelerate the process of getting them to stores as well as prolong shelf life.

ULMA is a major provider of flow wrapping equipment and complete automated lines for a wide variety of items from bread rolls and cereal bars to biscuits, cakes, morning goods and snacks.
