Kopi the gourmet coffee company has selected fulfilment services provider the Widdowson Group to provide packing and fulfilment services for its burgeoning monthly subscription programme in the UK. Widdowson will be responsible for packing and fulfilling specialist coffees and product information booklets to Kopi’s thousands of monthly subscribers from its new e fulfilment facility in Leicester

Simon I’Anson VP of Product and co-founder of Kopi comments: “We’ve been working with Widdowson for a number of months now after a lengthy search and selection process across a variety of potential partners. We’ve been delighted with the service they’ve provided to date; efficient, responsive and reliable. This has allowed us to focus on growing our subscriber base while the monthly logistics and packing operations are expertly managed by Widdowson.”

The Kopi coffee experts continually scour the world to select premium quality coffees to share with their members each month. The selection process focuses on the, taste, aroma, story and above all quality of the coffee. The coffee is shipped in raw Arabica bean form to the UK where it is roasted and packed into individual pouches.  Subscribers can elect to receive the coffee in ground or bean form in a choice of sizes and every month are guaranteed to receive a different coffee along with an informative booklet.  In addition subscribers are encouraged to recommend Kopi to their friends and family through a simple referral mechanism.

Each month Widdowson will be receiving, labelling, packing and despatching thousands of subscriber packs to extremely tight deadlines thus ensuring that members receive their coffee at its absolute freshest. In addition the Widdowson Group’s international freight division will manage the entire supply chain journey of the coffee from buyer to roaster to packer.

Operating over 550,000 sq ft of logistics warehousing space, the Widdowson Group has the ability to offer clients a bespoke contract packing and e- fulfilment service from its purpose built, BRC certified facilities. In addition it can provide dedicated or shared user storage facilities in racked or bulk configuration on a contractual or short term basis.

Widdowson’s modern fleet of over 120 vehicles, extending from panic vans to 44 tonne artics and including almost 200 trailers, offers national distribution from one pallet to a full load either on a dedicated, contractual, shared user or ad hoc basis. They can carry a diverse range of products mainly concentrating on manufacturing, retail and industrial market sectors.
