The USA Rice Federation took a stand alongside one of the largest importers of US Rice into the UK at the exhibition ‘Catering for the Public Sector’, at The Barbican London, in November
This was a conference and exhibition aimed at food service procurement in government, and local government run organisations.

Over 200 delegates from all over the UK attended. These included procurement officers from Hospital trusts, Universities, Schools, Government and Local councils as well as numerous other groups all linked to public sector catering.

The USA Rice Federation was able to offer advice on the different rice available from the US to suit different catering needs, as well as the versatility, convenience and value for money US rice offers.

Procurement officers are looking at ways of keeping menus healthy, especially for children and hospital patients, as well as ensuring costs are kept down, and American rice is perfect for this

These exhibitions present an excellent opportunity to talk directly to the procurement managers responsible for the decision making.
