About IEA Life Sciences Ireland

Life Sciences Ireland, a division of the Irish Exporters Association (IEA) was established in 2006. Until recently IEA Life Sciences Ireland focused mainly on the area of Good Distribution Practice (GDP).  IEA Life Sciences Ireland has developed a range of different GDP training courses for people working in the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors but also for sub-supply companies and service providers that do business with these sectors.  An IEA Certified GDP Passport Scheme has also been developed, which has proven very attractive to industry in Ireland and increasingly to overseas organisations.

The Irish Exporters Association (IEA) has received part-funding through the Ireland Wales 2007–2013 Interreg 4A programme to develop a new knowledge portal for the life sciences sector.  This industry-led initiative concentrates on the development of a knowledge portal that will host customised training modules on a range of supply chain issues and also act as an industry communication platform going forward.
