EHL Ingredients Strengthens Technical Team With New Appointment

Food ingredient supplier, EHL Ingredients, has welcomed a new recruit into its growing team. Debadutta Jayaprakash, age 27 joins as Assistant Technical Manager and will oversee all technical functions for EHL, including managing the quality management system and supplier documentation, HACCP review, technical customer support,and will be responsible for all technical due diligence.

Debadutta is a Food Science graduate with four years’ experience in the food and drink sector and has previously held quality management and technical compliance roles with Young’s Group and Kerfoot Group.

He will report into Technical Manager, Mike Perrin, to ensure EHL’s high standards are maintained in the UK and from overseas suppliers.

Debadutta’s appointment takes EHL Ingredients’ staff total to 23 at its Stockport head office.

Last year was a record year for ingredient supplier, with overall sales up 20% on 2011, with further national and international growth and recruitment planned for the next 12 months and beyond.

Welcoming Debadutta to the team, Tasneem Backhouse, sales director at EHL Ingredients, says: “Debadutta will be a great asset to the team as we increase our supplier base and extend our product portfolio. His knowledge of the systems, processes and data management involved in the food industry will support us across the whole company. Last year was our most successful to date as we hit our £5m sales target and Debadutta joins us during a positive period as we have solid growth plan for 2013 and beyond.

EHL Ingredients supplies high quality conventional and organic products from all over the world to the food manufacturing industry including spices, seasoning, herbs, seeds and dried fruits, nuts, lentils and vegetables. It currently offers around 300 food ingredients and boasts a 200-strong organic range aswell as over 50 custom blends. EHL Ingredients’ products are sold into the food manufacturing sector and used in end products such as breads and bakery items, ready meals, healthy snacks and soups and sauces. They are also sold to speciality food shops, delis and organic retailers across the UK.
