French firm Flexico is launching, what it calls, its ‘green’ packaging closing systems into the United Kingdom.

The resealable packaging firm said that its Biozip and Naturezip will be launched into the UK.

Its Biozip is a compostable zip made from renewable resources and is suitable for food contact. In contrast, its Naturezip is made from plant-based PET.

Paul Francis of Flexico UK said: “Flexico’s dedicated research and development centre based in our French headquarters has produced a range of eco-friendly products including closing systems which are very much in line with our overall ethos of saving natural resources for future generations. Our Biozip which is fully compostable and conforms to EN 13432 can be sealed to similar material, and the Naturezip is made from plant-based material that offers the same physicho-chemical properties as oil-based material.”

According to Flexico, both the Biozip and Naturezip are suitable for food contact and can be used on all packing machines available on the market, including Form Fill & Seal and bag making machines.

The firm is based in five countries in Europe: Germany, Spain, Italy, Romania, Switzerland and the UK.
