FrieslandCampina Opens New Distribution Centre

FrieslandCampina has opened a new distribution centre at Meppel in The Netherlands. The facility will store and transfer dairy products coming from the dairy group’s production locations in Beilen and Meppel and transport these products towards export markets. The sustainably built distribution centre improves transport efficiency and this substantially reduces annual CO2 emission.
The 31,000 sq m distribution centre will store and transfer dairy products for export markets such as China, Hong Kong, Russia and Greece and replaces distribution centres in Meppel, Hoogeveen, Heerenveen and Veendam, all in The Netherlands. The centre can accommodate 43,000 pallets. Meppel was selected because of its favourable location.
