Cross-border dairy processing co-operative Lakeland Dairies has made some management changes, including the appointment of Peter Sheridan as group financial controller.

Lakeland offers some 170 dairy products in over 70 countries worldwide. It’s the second largest dairy processing co-operative and overall fourth largest dairy processor on the island of Ireland with annual revenues of €470m.

The co-op operates across 15 counties on a cross border basis processing over 700 million litres of milk annually into a range of value-added dairy foodservice products and dairy food ingredients.

Sheridan has worked with Lakeland Dairies since 1983 in various management roles and has been the financial controller of dairy operations since 2006.

A certified public accountant and an MBA graduate of Smurfit School of Business, UCD, he recently participated in the Strategic Leadership Programme for Chief Financial Officers programme run by Enterprise Ireland and Stanford University.

He will succeed group financial controller Michael Ryan who has been appointed company secretary of Lakeland Dairies.

This is on the retirement of Gerald McCarthy who has provided 22 years of service to the society.
