Tommy Keane (pictured) has been appointed Production Director for Irish Distillers Pernod Ricard. He succeeds Peter Morehead, who was appointed Group Operations Director at Pernod Ricard earlier this year. Tommy Keane has worked as General Manager of Midleton Distillery since 2006.

During his time as General Manager he increased the production of the plant at Midleton, County Cork from 19 million litres of alcohol (mla) to 64 mla. He successfully led the design and project management teams involved in the recent €110 million distillery expansion.

Tommy Keane also successfully sourced and negotiated the purchase of the 70 hectare maturation site in Dungourney. The site development is ongoing, with the first whiskey delivered for maturation on the site in January 2014. Total cost of the project when complete will be circa €100 million.

In his new role, Tommy Keane will head up the Production Division which includes Distillation, Maturation, Bottling, Supply Chain and Central Laboratories. Tommy Keane has also held a number of Engineering and Project Management roles across the Production division since joining the company in 1985.
