Rigid Containers reveals latest multi-million pound casemaker investment
Corrugated group Rigid Containers has set its sights on 25% growth in volumes in the next three years after ordering a third Latitude casemaker
The multi-million pound investment will see the PP10-25 flexo casemaker installed at Rigid’s facility in Selby, north Yorkshire next April.
It is the third Latitude casemaker to come into the business, which is part of the Belgian VPK Group.
In March this year it completed installation of a machine with an identical specification at its Desborough site in Northampton, which formed part of a £4m investment that also included die-cutting and corrugating.
Rigid’s first Latitude casemaker, a two-colour machine, was installed at Selby in 2008.
Managing director Richard Coward said the addition of the new casemaker would further enhance the firm’s position in the market.
“The machine is identical to the one we installed earlier this year in Desborough, and it effectively gives us full ‘mirror’ capabilities between the two production facilities.
“With the ongoing growth being seen at our Selby site, the time was right to expand the production capacity further as we look to increase our volumes by as much as 25 per cent over the coming three years.”
The PP10-25 flexo casemaker is a top die-cutting machine and will handle a range of work including shelf-ready packaging boxes
The deal was signed with Chinese business Latitude’s UK sales representative GTS (Europe) .
