The FAS SPrint Revolution from Automated Packaging Systems helps small- to medium-size processing and packaging operations automate the bagging process.

The system, geared toward companies handing frozen and individually quick-frozen (IQF) foods, also is suitable for firms that pack speciality and seasonal food items in shorter production runs. It reportedly provides an affordable method for automated bagging, and an alternative to hand packaging. Capable of bagging at speeds of up to 22 metres per minute, it features a 1.5m wide loading area where packers are presented with pre-opened indexed bags that, once filled, are heat sealed and separated.

Flexible options
The FAS SPrint Revolution offers continuous, intermittent or batch modes, and cycles on pre-set parameters or can be operated manually with a foot switch. The system can stand alone or in combination with conveyors and scales to automatically present, weigh, load and seal.

According to the UK-based manufacturer, the system’s stainless-steel construction is corrosion-resistant, and a vertical tilt makes for easy maintenance and wash down, eliminating the need for disassembly during daily cleaning.

Branded bags

The company’s system-matched SidePouch bags are available with a range of features suited for food packaging operations. A variety of materials are offered, providing barrier and tear resistance. The manufacturer can pre-print the bags in order to assist customers with branding and shelf presence.

The FAS Sprint Revolution features a 250-mm PanelView Plus HMI interface; system programming is performed via flash card. Additionally, the firm’s AutoTouch control software displays productivity data and provides access to job storage, job recall and on-board system diagnostics.
