At Casual Dining 2016, Tri-Star will showcase takeaway packaging that is travel-friendly, looks great, and keeps food warm and in perfect condition. In addition, Tri-Star will present labelling solutions that make product identification clear and attractive – ensuring it is easy for staff and customers to differentiate between meals, while also highlighting important information such as allergens.

Casual Dining will take place at the Business Design Centre in London from 24-25 February 2016. The Tri-Star stand will feature the new Taste range of kraft brown packaging for takeaway foods. In the range are fluted packs for hot sandwiches, food-to-go boxes with integrated lids for hot and cold foods, and ovenable and microwaveable pizza boxes with a unique window feature that offers great visibility. Taste packs keep food hotter for longer, without ever making the packaging too hot to hold. This means they’re perfect for eating on the go. All of the packs are recyclable, and can be printed for customised branding.

Demonstrating Tri-Star’s sustainability credentials further will be its innovative range of compostable containers for hot and cold food, made from unbleached bagasse – a fully compostable sugar cane pulp that grows abundantly. Available with lids, and suitable for pasta, curries, noodles, burritos and salads, the bagasse selection includes Tri-Star’s award-winning Oval Eco Street Bowl, a unique oval bowl that’s much easier to hold while eating than the usual round and square containers. It is ideal for casual dining restaurants, cafés, street food traders and other caterers serving food to go.

Kevin Curran, Managing Director of Tri-Star, said: “It’s often said that ‘staying in is the new going out’ and the booming takeaway market demonstrates that while this may be something of a cliché, it’s also true. More and more consumers are voting with their backsides – and ‘eating out’ on the sofa instead. With demand rising, competition is hotting up. Our packaging solutions help casual dining operators keep one step of their rivals by ensuring their food always looks and tastes just as good in the home as it would if it was served in a restaurant.”

Other exciting innovations on display at Casual Dining 2016 will include Tri-Star’s Fastpac range of square, rectangular and compartmented containers made from polypropylene. These are a great option for takeaway meals and can be easily reheated in the microwave.

For those times when only the best will do, there is Tri-Star’s stunning Mozaïk high-end range of plates and cutlery. Similar in appearance to high quality ceramic, in the case of the plates, and to solid silver cutlery, in the case of the knives, forks and spoons, the Mozaïk range is reusable and dishwasher safe, reducing cost and waste.

As if that wasn’t enough, Tri-Star will also highlight its Kraft & White Carry Packs, a superb solution for transporting takeaway meals. Available in two sizes – large and small – they are made from recyclable and biodegradable paperboard and can be custom printed with branding. Also on the stand will be Marmipack® polypropylene casserole dishes. Airtight and microwaveable, these are perfect for hot food and make great takeaway containers.

Kevin added: “Today’s takeaway consumers expect quality standards that are as good as anything offered by eat-in restaurants. The packaging you serve your food in is a key part of the experience. We have a packaging solution for every casual dining business, large or small, and we’re really excited to share our innovations with visitors to Casual Dining 2016.”
