EHL Ingredients develops gluten-free cumin and coriander
EHL Ingredients has launched two new gluten-free ingredients in response to rising consumer demand for free-from products.
The company has worked with suppliers to source gluten-free versions of ground cumin and ground coriander in order to service food manufacturers’ increasing interest in ingredients suitable for free-from foods.
EHL Ingredients sales director Tasneem Backhouse said: “Our conventional ground cumin and ground coriander ingredients are performing well, so we wanted to offer these popular products to tap in to the growing demand for gluten-free foods. We’re aiming to launch an entire range of gluten-free ingredients which will appeal to manufacturers looking to service the health-conscious consumer market.
“The gluten-free ground coriander and ground cumin ingredients can be used in curries, tagines, sauces and casseroles to ensure those with a gluten intolerance don’t have to compromise on flavour.
“Since launch, the gluten-free ingredients have proved extremely popular with our customers, and EHL has seen a 10% spike in sales since they became available. This confirms to us that there is a real need for gluten-free in the ingredients market, and we look forward to developing the range even further.
