More than just an exhibition. Packaging Innovations returns to Birmingham’s NEC on 26 & 27 February 2014, with more show content than ever before. Five new interactive features, invaluable advice, content rich seminars and interactive packaging and print debates, makes Packaging Innovations a must attend event.

Brand new for 2014:

The Ecopack Challenge, sponsored by Marks and Spencer, will see a selection of exhibitors pitching their eco-friendly packaging ideas in front of a panel of professionals looking for the latest sustainable solutions. The Ecopack Challenge winner will receive a one hour session with the Marks and Spencer technologists and an opening to work with a supplier.

BPIF will be launching CartonVille, a ground-breaking animation, which follows a folding carton through its journey from the forest to the promotion and then to the recycling plant where the journey starts again. Visitors can also enter a competition to win an iPad Mini by visiting the BPIF Carton’s members stands to answer seven carton related questions.

The Plastics and Packaging Recycling Clinic hosted by Recoup, will be on hand providing free one-to-one recycling advice.  As companies try to be more environmentally friendly, more answers are needed, so this pre-booked session with an industry expert will be hugely advantageous.

Campden BRI will be showcasing an eye-tracking feature which helps visitors understand what drivers are behind the consumers spending behaviour and store navigation. The eye-tracking software is available to try, helping to develop strategies for POS, pack design and product positioning. 3D Print Live Demos are set to take Packaging Innovations 2014 by storm. Watch 3D printing live in action and find out how to increase innovation, improve communication and compress the design cycle. Plus AIPIA (The Active & Intelligent Packaging Industry Association) will be on hand to give free advice to visitors looking to integrate the latest active and intelligent technologies in their packaging.

Show favourites also returning:

The highly anticipated BIG Packaging Debate will be returning where industry experts will be debating: ‘Packaging – designed for the consumer or the supply chain?’ This interactive debate takes place at 15:30 on Wednesday 26 February, in the International Brand Summit.

The BIG Print Debate returns with the topic this year: ‘The latest print technologies: gimmick or sound ROI?’ This interactive debate gives you the unique opportunity to pitch your questions to the panel of experts and learn from the discussion. There will also be a return of the Lions’ Lair, where four brave exhibitors pitch their latest innovations to a panel of experts, in a bid to be named best in show.

And finally the Packaging Consultancy Clinic run by The Packaging Society will be answers any packaging challenges you might be facing. Visitors to the show will have the opportunity to ask the questions, bring along packaging and gain advice on those burning packaging issues.

The show will feature over 50 content-rich learnShops from major industry brands and leading speakers, including packaging Guru Lars Wallentin, DHL Supply Chain, Iceland Foods, Tesco, Wilkinson and The BartTM Ingredients Co Ltd.

A drinks reception for all those visiting the show will be held after The BIG Packaging Debate providing an opportunity to meet the panel and the rest of the speakers at the show, network with colleagues, new contacts, and exhibitors.
