Bakers-YeastLallemand Inc and USA Yeast, LLC have announced the acquisition of the shares of Hattiesburg, Mississippi based USA Yeast, LLC by Lallemand. The addition of the Hattiesburg facility now provides American Yeast with their industry leading fourth North American yeast production plant.

Commenting on the transaction, Lallemand said, “USA Yeast brings to us a high quality group of employees and a modern well maintained facility. The Hattiesburg location complements our existing plant locations and provides us the ability to serve our customers from an improved geographic footprint.

“We are pleased to continue to invest in the North American yeast market and welcome the addition of USA Yeast to our company.” The existing USA plant in Hattiesburg will continue to operate.
Mike Lavallee, founder of USA Yeast, LLC will remain with the company and serve as an advisor to Lallemand in an ongoing role.

USA Yeast will continue to operate as “USA Yeast” as they bought the shares (instead of an asset purchase).
