Shared-user distribution specialist Lenham Storage has gained the coveted accreditation of the British Retail Consortium for the storage and distribution it provides to the grocery sector.

The BRC is one of the country’s leading trade bodies, and represents many of Kent-based Lenham Storage’s customers in the food, drink and FMCG sectors.

Its accreditation scheme amounts to a seal of approval, providing BRC members with a guarantee that suppliers who gain recognition are working to the highest possible standards.

Lenham Storage’s success in earning the BRC Standard in Storage and Distribution certificate is the culmination of two years of hard work by staff at all levels of the company, led by Director of Risk Management Steve Phibbs and supported by specialist Richard Mallett.

Steve Phibbs said: “Every member of staff has given their backing to what we wanted to achieve, and this certificate is a tribute to their efforts.”

Lenham Storage Managing Director Keith Abrehart added: “We are very proud, after more than two years of effort and a great deal of financial investment, to have obtained the BRC Standard in Storage and Distribution. This is a rare accolade for a third-party and shared-user service provider and it’s already been extremely well received by our customers.”

Lenham Storage provides warehousing and shared-user transport services toBritain’s biggest retailers. The family-owned company relies on a fleet of 260 trucks and trailers to deliver foods, beverages and other fmcg (fast-moving consumer goods) products nationwide. It employs more than 450 people and operates more than three quarters of a million square feet of ambient and temperature-controlled warehousing at its headquarters in thevillageofLenham, and a second site inAndover.
