THE-DAILY-CATCH-620x330The Gourmet Food Wrap Company said the new size sheet has been launched in response to customer demand and is ideal as an insert in mini-wire chip frying baskets, cones, and stainless steel serving buckets that are continuing to grow in popularity in the hospitality industry with those seeking alternative ways of serving and presenting French fries.

Explaining the reasons behind the move Garry Parker, marketing manager of The Gourmet Food Wrap Company, the greaseproof paper printing arm of Chevler, said: “The original tabloid-sized Daily Catch has proven to be a major success with restaurateurs, gastro-pubs, foodservice operators and fish and chip shops who use it to line wooden boards, slate platters or simply wrap food for a truly authentic look. Filled with interesting fish and chip related facts it has always been an excellent conversation starter and the word search remains as popular as ever.

“Many restaurants, however, are still serving fried product in cold wire baskets which quickly draws the heat from the cooked food. The smaller, new-sized sheet, which is 270mm x 203mm has been designed to fit nicely into baskets and cones. It not only enhances presentation but the thermal properties of the paper helps keep the food served in them warmer for longer.

He added: “It is very important to remember that the Daily Catch is printed on natural greaseproof paper which does not have any chemical treatments or coatings. It acquires its greaseproof properties during the pulping process. Its fibres become so tightly entwined that the spaces between them are smaller than a grease molecule. It is therefore recyclable and a sustainable option for your business.

“Always check that your greaseproof paper is actually natural greaseproof and not chemically treated imitation greaseproof.”

The new-sized The Daily Catch should be available from the Gourmet Food Wrap Company’s distributors in individual packs of 500 sheets or boxes of 4000.
