Nestlé, Mondelēz, GÜ Puds, Fake Bake and Marks & Spencer will be speaking at the UK’s biggest packaging show, which returns to Birmingham on 25 & 26 February for its tenth edition. The seminar program held across Packaging Innovations, Empack and Label&Print will host a prestigious line-up of packaging and print experts from all over the globe.

The free-to-attend two day learnShops programme will offer first-hand case studies, advice and the latest ideas taking the market by storm, providing essential insight into the up-to-the-minute innovations, developments and technologies within the packaging and print industry.

Golden boy Craig-Alexander Wilson, Head of Strategic Development, at Fake Bake and Beauty Editor at The Sunday Mail will be kicking off day one, revealing the secrets behind the Fake Bake brand, talking in detail about, ‘Taking a concept and producing a successful and aspirational brand’, on day one of the show.

Knives and forks at the ready! Alison Ingle, Group Packaging Manager at Nestlé, will be discussing the packaging challenges that the food industry faces. During her talk, Ingle will focus on the importance of packaging safety and the issues and complications surrounding compliance. 

Mondelēz will be addressing the importance of investing in future talent. Dr Janet Shipton, Section Manager, along with Summer Ali, Packaging Technologist, and Clement Nicaise, Packaging Technologist at Mondelēz will divulge why future talent will play a vital factor in your business, and why you can’t afford to miss out with innovations and developments becoming increasingly significant to the packaging industry.

Keeping it foodie, Anup Pala, Packaging Technologist, at GÜ Puds will address ‘Packaging rationalisation for different markets’, with GÜ Puds being eaten all over the world, the session will divulge the secrets to the winning coveted brand.

The demands on packaging are becoming increasingly complex and customer engagement is becoming a prevalent issue within the industry. Jess Thompson, Brand Partner at Blippar, will address the challenges we face and look at how we can create engaging customer experiences through activating packaging.

Trewin Restorick, Chief Executive & Founder, at Hubbub will be talking about a similar subject in his seminar session ‘Can you change how the public view packaging’.

Also presenting during the two days will be The Retail Institute, Smith Lumen, Neil Farmer Associates, 2 Sisters Food Group, Dragon Rouge, plus many more.

In addition to the full learnShops programme, the 2015 show boasts the launch of three new features – The Drinks Symposium, The Pharmaceutical Symposium and The Retail Symposium – providing exhibitors and visitors from all spheres of the packaging and print world with a unique programme of valuable and insightful content.

Show favourite, The Lions’ Lair, returns alongside The BIG Print Debate, which will ask: ‘As personalisation increasingly becomes the norm will its greatest impact be on the shelf or in the home?’ The expert panel will be made up of Antoinette Devine, Global Packaging & Materials Consultant at SABMiller, Karen Graley, Packaging & Reprographics Manager at Waitrose, Lynn Harris, Account Director Digital at JKR and Nancy Janes, WW Graphics Solutions Business Program Director at HP.

This year’s show will also feature live 3D print demos, enabling designers, engineers and educators to test and perfect work with 3D modeling. Plus, Easyfairs have teamed up with Xeikon to provide a Pack Personalisation feature. To demonstrate to brand owners and printers the power of personalised packaging and how it can trigger consumer emotion.
