Royal A-ware to Expand Milk Powder Production
Royal A-Ware, the Dutch family-owned dairy company, plans to take over the milk powder production towers at Aalter in Belgium from FrieslandCampina. These milk powder towers have a production capacity of approximately 45,000 tons of milk powder.
This business unit employs about 40 employees, who will switch to Royal A-ware as soon as both parties have concluded a final agreement. FrieslandCampina will continue its production of consumer dairy in Aalter and will carry on with the planned investments.
The intended sale is in line with the strategy of FrieslandCampina to further improve its network while maintaining maximum milk processing, increased value creation, and cost optimisation.
The acquisition fits in with the strategy of Royal A-ware to serve customers with an as broad as possible product portfolio. Royal A-Ware intends to invest in the plant in order to be able to respond to customer demand in the best possible way.
The intended acquisition is subject to the usual conditions. Expectations are that the transaction will be completed before the end of the first quarter of the year 2021.
