1. A Showcase of Innovation

A fourth industrial revolution, centred on technology, automation and sustainability has been
on the manufacturing agenda for several years and a range of the products set to be on
show at Foodex Manufacturing Solutions are testament to this. Consider Tenero-F Gel by
Devro, a 100% plant-based coextrusion gel for fresh sausages, which is being introduced to
the market for the first time at the show. Find them on Stand N151. Meanwhile, Air Products
(Stand E79) will be showcasing their Freshline® Smart Technology which is set to
revolutionise current cryogenic freezing processes. Over 70 products on show at Foodex
have been stamped with the ‘Innovation’ seal of approval. Find out more here.

2. Big Name Exhibitors

With nearly 300 exhibitors expected on the show floor, there’s going to be a real wealth of
products on display. Bosch Industrial Boilers (Stand E91), Chiorino UK Ltd (Stand C91),
Detectamet Detectable Products (Stand L151), FPS Food Process Solutions Corp (Stand
G78), Metcalfe Catering Equipment (Stand K61), Konica Minolta (Stand H29) and Pedrollo                                                 Distribution (Stand K21) are just a handful of the brands preparing to showcase their wares
at the show in April. See the full list of exhibitors here.

Addy, Director General at Provision Trade Federation, will be taking to the Food
Manufacture Live Stage to discuss and engage with many of the complex issues facing the
industry today. Q&A sessions at the end of each panel discussion will also allow visitors the

4. Dedicated Ingredients Zone

Foodex Manufacturing Solutions will also feature the Ingredients Zone in 2023, a highly-
specialist sector dedicated to giving those brands a platform to showcase the most ground-
breaking new ingredients on the market. Mibelle Biochemistry which offers unique botanical
actives for nutraceutical supplements and functional food will be on Stand D201 whilst
Foodology by Univar Solutions, a team dedicated to the unique distribution and technical
innovation needs of the food and nutrition ingredient industries helping shape the ‘future of
food’, will be on stand Stand F191. Find out more about the 15 specialist exhibitors in the
Ingredients Zone here.

5. Food Manufacture Live Programme: Artificial Intelligence – Science Fiction or
Fact?

Ever wondered how machine learning in food and beverage could help you do more with
less? Our Artificial Intelligence seminar, headed up by Andrew Dalziel, VP, Industry Solution
& Strategy at Infor, considers the importance of machine learning as well as giving examples
of where and how it is already delivering significant business value to companies. 12:15pm –
1:00pm, Monday 24th April.

6. Food Manufacture Live Programme: The Race to Net-Zero

The Food & Drink Federation has set its members the ambition of being net-zero by 2040. Is
this achievable and what is being done across the industry? This seminar discusses what

priorities food and drink businesses should have and the impact rising inflation and the cost-
of-living crisis could have on this target. 12:30pm – 1:15pm, Tuesday 25th April.

7. Food Manufacture Live Programme: Does meat have a future?

For a vocal minority, it’s a major cause of climate change – while consumers worried about
mixed health messages are getting an appetite for plant proteins. The debate as to whether
this climate represents a threat or opportunity will be on during this seminar, as well as
discussing how companies can promote products without seeming defensive and where the
category will be five years from now. 2:00pm – 2:45pm, Wednesday 26th April.

8. Cutting-Edge Event Technology

For the first time, Foodex Manufacturing Solutions will be offering visitors a unique way to
experience the show thanks to its partnership with Sitka which will be supplying advanced
technology including indoor show navigation, digital show guides and more. All accessible
via smartphone, the technology will revolutionise at-show navigation allowing visitors to
make the most of their time on the show floor as well as improving networking opportunities.

9. Co-Located Shows

Foodex Manufacturing Solutions will run alongside Farm Shop & Deli Show, National
Convenience Show and Food & Drink Expo as part of the UK Food & Drink Shows. The 3-
day event is a fantastic opportunity to see what is happening in the industry at-large, with
visitors able to take just one day out of the office, kitchen, warehouse or retail site to
experience a huge amount of innovation and insight across food development, grocery,
manufacturing, specialist retail, wholesale and foodservice at the NEC Birmingham from 24 th
– 26 th April 2023.

10. Don’t take our word for it!

“Foodex is the UK trade event for food and drink manufacturing. It’s a great opportunity to
learn more about what’s happening in the sector, meet innovators and witness new exciting
products!”
Bethan Grylls, Editor, Food Manufacture (Speaker)

“Foodex is big, informative and fun. With having everything under one roof, we get a chance
to have a stroll around other areas where we might not even think about looking, but then
something might pop up and we see that we actually are interested.”
